Arts festival celebrates four decades next month

The 40th annual Omaha Summer Arts Festival is being held in the city for three days this June. It is a presentation of the First National Bank.

This year's festival is expected to feature the artworks of more than 135 artisans and crafters. There will also be musical performances on the World Pavilion Stage, a young artists' exhibition, art demonstrations, and Tastefest. A children’s fair will feature entertainment stages and many hands-on activities; some of which will need 1 to 10 tickets priced at 50¢ each to be experienced.

Several local food vendors will be supplying samples and food for sale during Tastefest. The Art Collectors in Training area will help to teach kids up to the age of 10 about buying art, and they will also be able to shop in a ‘kids only’ area where artworks will cost $5 and up.

The Omaha Public Library will also be holding a book sale during the event. This will take place at 14th and Farnam.

Some of the artisans coming to this annual Omaha festival may decide to invest in postcard printing services in advance. Postcards are often used as a large format business card by artists.

The festival is being held at Gene Leahy Mall from June 6 to 8, and is free to attend. For more information, call 402-345-5401.
