Raleigh nonprofit uses film contest to increase awareness of region

Innovate Raleigh, a nonprofit that wants to spread the word of Raleigh's entrepreneurial spirit, has announced a film contest.

The company challenges companies that believe they are innovative to share their stories by creating a two-minute video about their organization. Innovate's intent with this contest is to raise the profile of the Research Triangle as a hub for different, new, innovative ideas.

Innovate Raleigh describes itself as a:

“Community-driven, nonprofit organization on a mission to be a connector, convener, and communicator of the innovation and entrepreneurship efforts in Raleigh.”

The company hopes to make Raleigh one of the top five centers of innovation in the nation.

Innovate Raleigh holds summits to promote discussion across sectors, and Meet-Ups that encourage networking, believing that people need to meet the “moves and shakers” in the community.

The film festival is an outgrowth of this thinking, and the five winners will each have a five-minute film devoted to their company, as well as being part of the core of Innovate's 2016 campaign to bring attention to the Triangle. Innovate also encourages the companies to use their short films in their own marketing efforts.

Companies interested in entering the contest must submit their film by January 31, 2016. Innovate Raleigh might consider working with a brochure printing company to create Brochures about the film contest, and mail them to companies in the Raleigh area, including the Triangle.
