An upcoming show in Raleigh will bring technical textiles experts together.
Techtextil North America offers exhibits, networking opportunities, and education for those in the technical textile industry, from people working with raw materials all the way to finished products. Technical textiles are defined as clothing that is designed to be functional rather than fashionable. For example, they include materials used in parachutes, waterproof jackets, and airbags.
Technical textiles perform a variety of tasks such as providing a medical barrier against bacteria, protection from UV radiation, providing flame resistance or thermal insulation, and providing protection against harsh chemicals.
The conference promises to be packed with information. It will offer twelve separate application areas, each concentrated on a specific area of textile use. These include Agrotech, which deals with products for landscape, forestry, horticulture and agriculture use. Buildtech discusses architecture and construction materials including soundproofing, tarpaulins, awnings, and membranes. Other application areas are identifiable by their names: Hometech, Packtech, Clothtech, Indutech (industrial materials), Medtech, Geotech, Mobiltech, Sporttech, and Oekotech, which deals with materials used in environmental protection.
There will also be Symposium featuring lectures such as “Designing for Real Performance,” and “Supply Chain: In the Round.” Shorter talks focused on solutions, known as Tech Talks, will be given as well.
Techtextil North America will come to the Raleigh Convention Center August 4-6. Events like this benefit when organizers use flyer printing to create agendas to distribute to attendees.
