Sustainable horticulture may sound complicated, but a Raleigh event will show how it can be a fun and easy way to “get growing”.
Raleigh’s Fifth Season Gardening Co. has organized a celebration that will include seed starting, and it will be on offer in time for anyone who wants to get theirs ready in time for the upcoming planting season. Tickets start at $30.00 each.
The 1.5 hour session will introduce the basics of starting seeds at home, including helpful advice and pitfalls to avoid. Tips for putting up the seedlings once they have thrown their starting trays will be discussed, and planting schedules will also be shared. Everyone will be able to prepare their own flat of seeds to take home, and the materials for this, including soil, organic seeds and full instructions will all be supplied. The number of participants has been capped at 15.
