The North Carolina Museum of Art will hold a two-day virtual workshop on photography next month. The event is open to those living in Raleigh and nearby areas.
The workshop focuses on winter landscapes and will be divided into two parts. The first involves an introductory lesson by Mick Schulte, a photographer based in Durham. Schulte will teach participants the fundamentals of photography, and entrants will be able to take this knowledge and apply it to their winter photography.
After the first class, entrants will have a week to go outdoors and start taking photographs. Schulte asks that participants create a small portfolio of their work, so they can share it during the second session. Once the week has passed, all participants will reconvene to share and discuss the photographs they took.
The workshop is aimed at those over the age of 16 and of all skill levels. Any camera can be used for the workshop, whether it be smartphones or nondigital cameras. Stationery printers can also be utilized to help create portfolios.
The first day of the workshop will take place on February 18, and the second will be on February 25, both of which are Thursdays. Each class will start at 7:00 PM and end at 8:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the museum’s website, with prices at $41.83 for non-members and $37.54 for members.
