Raleigh March workshop welcomes beginner birdwatchers

Birdwatching is an activity that encourages people to explore the great outdoors, and Raleigh residents who can use some help getting started are the target for a March walking workshop.

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Resources offers science-based learning, and it will be hosting a Birdwatching for Beginners class. It is for adults only, and will provide a relaxed and friendly experience.

The workshop will take place outdoors so everyone can get some in the field practice. A facilitator will lead the session, and binoculars will be available for anyone who needs them. The attendees are reminded to dress for the weather, and as the activity will be set up in the venue’s outdoor class that is accessed by a gravel path, it may be accessible to those who require a mobility device. Its scheduled for the morning, and will run for one and a half hours.

Bird watching and other nature-based activities can be very rewarding, and may be enjoyed throughout a person’s life. Stationery printers that provide binding services can craft basic field guides to distribute to those just starting out in their learning journey.

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Resources will be offering its Birdwatching for Beginners session on March 8th. It will begin at 9:30 am, and there is no fee being charged. The Prairie Ridge Outdoor Classroom is located at 1671 Gold Star Drive.
