Raleigh homes company at work once again

Preservation Homes, a Raleigh-based company, has broken ground on a new project.

Preservation is working on a new residential housing development in Sanford. The project, called Autumnwood, is the first to be built in Sanford in the last several years.

Plans call for Autumnwood to comprise 314 lots, located off Cool Springs Road. The neighborhood will cover some 200 acres, and is to be built in phases. Phase one will be made up of 69 lots, all slated to be built by Preservation Homes. Preservation is run by Tom Bland, whose specialty is building homes that look historic, and yet still blend in with their surroundings.

According to Bland, the development in Sanford will feature bungalow-style structures inspired by some of the historic homes found in Aberdeen, Southern Pines, and Sanford itself. Among the architectural options are arts-and-crafts styled shingles, porches, and siding colors. All of Autumnwood's lots will be at least half an acre, with home prices ranging from $250,000 to $325,000. A model home, complete with furnishings, as well as other spec homes, will be under construction by the end of the year.

Preservation Homes might consider working with brochure printers to create a booklet about Autumnwood, which could then be supplied to realtors in order to promote and raise awareness of the work being carried out.
