Walking tour celebrates Raleighs art

An upcoming walking tour will take people away from the regular touring sites to show them the best large-scale public artworks Raleigh has to offer.

The tour will concentrate on the creative murals in Raleigh but will also include interesting public art installations. Attendees are encouraged to carry their phones or cameras with them to take pictures. Android users can use an app called Abstracted Motion to increase engagement and find out more about the installations.

The entire tour will last for about an hour and 45 minutes. It will begin at the steps of Wake County Justice Center on Salisbury Street and will end about half a block away from where it started. Promotional Products such as T-Shirts can be sold as memorabilia for such events.

Guests are encouraged to be on time, because the tour will depart at the scheduled start time to ensure there is time to see all the sights. However, any latecomers can catch up with the tour by heading north up Salisbury Street.

This tour is paid for on a donation basis, meaning participants pay whatever they want or can afford. As a guide, adults usually give about $20 each.

The next tour is on January 28, starting at 1:15 pm. Advance registration for each tour is required, and can be arranged via Eventbrite.
