Raleigh is a city that has a reputation for knowing how to have a great time, and it has a gathering on its agenda that will see everyone get their hands dirty.
The annual Mud Day Festival will once again welcome one and all, and this will be its 8th year. As it will draw attention to the importance of wetlands and the role they play in the environment, it will be fun with a purpose, and there will be offerings for all ages.
The public will be invited to visit various booths and displays set up by local environmental service groups and agencies, and food trucks will be rolling in as well to keep everyone fed. Once they have gathered information and had a bite to eat, everyone can head to the giant mud pit where they can slip, slide and celebrate.
As with many community events, Mud Day will be volunteer driven, counting on the generous nature of residents for its success. Two shifts have been planned, and those who would like to get involved will need to be at least 16 years of age to do so. Organizers may choose to have certificates of appreciation prepared by Stationery printers to present to those who lent a helping hand with an activity.
The 8th annual Mud Day festival will be on offer in Raleigh next week, August 15th, at 950 Peterson Street. It will begin at 10:00 am.
