More people are discovering how simple it can be to live a more sustainable lifestyle, and a Raleigh workshop can help point the way.
The city will be offering an introduction to rain gardens and how they can benefit the local stormwater systems. This interactive experience will be split between indoor instruction and an outdoor walk to view the bioretention area at the Raleigh Rose Garden.
The Rain Garden and Rain Barrel Workshop will show how these two simple methods can make a big impact. They will find out how they keep pollutants out of area waterways and ecosystems, and a discussion of local green stormwater infrastructure will be included. Everyone will find out how to plan, build, and install gardens and barrels, while the visit to the bioretention area will provide an in-the-field example of how a rain garden functions.
Workshops and other sessions can compress a lot of information into a small amount of time. Brochure printing services can provide an assortment of learning materials to hand out so that the attendees can continue to gather knowledge even after the event has drawn to a close.
Raleigh Stormwater will be helping those interested in finding out more about rain barrels and rain gardens on Saturday, November 14 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. The class is set for Raleigh Little Theatre. Registration needs to be completed in advance.
