Raleigh ready to roll up its sleeves
It will soon be all hands on deck for Raleigh residents who care about the environment, as a local service project makes its way to the city.
A call has gone out seeking volunteers for the Pop-Up Stream Clean Up day set to take place at Southgate Park, and advance registration has been requested. It is for those aged 10 years and up, although anyone 18 and under will need to attend with an adult.
Participants will be rolling up their sleeves and picking up trash and debris for the park’s stream and its banks as they seek to make the water cleaner. The supplies needed to tackle the task at hand will be supplied, including trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and litter grabbers. Helpers need to wear closed-toed shoes and are advised to dress in clothes they do not mind getting wet and dirty. Personnel from Stormwater Staff will be on to keep everything running smoothly.
Grassroots level events provide a way for the public to get involved in environmental stewardship. A banner printing company can prepare custom pop-up signage that can be deployed during in-person events.
Thanks to some intrepid helpers, Raleigh’s Southgate Park will be getting some care on Saturday, November 15. Everyone is asked to arrive by 10:30 am, and the work will continue until 12:00 noon.
