Felines get the spotlight in Raleigh

An event in mid-June is bringing a celebration of popular furry friends to Raleigh.

Carolina Kitty Con was created by a pair of women with cat-centered companies. Kendel Mineo owns Purrsnickitty, while Alex Trepka owns Meow City. The duo started Carolina Kitty Con with help from event director Madison Shelton.

The goal of the convention is to provide a space celebrating all things feline. People can meet like-minded individuals, take part in cat-themed activities and experiences, and discover a variety of products for either themselves or their fluffy companion.

A number of guests – both human and feline – will be making appearances for panels and meetings with attendees. The event will also have craft projects so attendees can make items such as custom cat toys. Educational and fundraising booths will be around to provide information, as well as a way to aid rescues with their missions.

Tickets for the Raleigh event range from $22.59 to $67.12. Children up to the age of 12 can enter for free. A link is available on the convention’s website. Many participating vendors and organizations will no doubt have Copies of their Business Cards to hand out to guests and potential collaborators.

The venue is the North Carolina State Fairgrounds, and the event will run between 10:30 am and 5:00 pm on both Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21.
