A March event is bringing hobbies that use similar materials to each other to Raleigh.
Carolina Fiber Festival is an experience that gives people a chance to enjoy their favorite craft or discover something new. The event highlights fiber arts like crocheting, knitting, weaving, felting, and spinning.
A market which has more than 80 different vendors will be selling products made with fibers, tools for various craft types, and materials themselves.
Guests can also bring projects with them and sit with other makers in a “Sit & Stitch” room as they work, or test a number of wheels in a space known as the “Spinning Wheel Round-Robin.”
Artisans will be demonstrating the process of fleece transforming into fiber, and guests can also visit with animals.
Workshops will be available to help those who want to improve on or learn new skills. Attending these workshops gets students access to the festival for free. Registration is on Lessonface.
Tickets to the Raleigh show are available through Eventbrite, with fees included, the cost comes out to $9.98 for one day and $15.70 for both days.
The venue is the NC State Fairgrounds and its Jim Graham Building. Many vendors at festivals order some business card printing to have cards to give to attendees. The workshops will run between March 12th and March 14th. The festival will be on March 13th and March 14th. Day one will be from 9:00am to 6:00pm, while day two will be 9:00am to 5:00pm.
