Greensboro-based Bee Safe Storage and Wine Cellar is set to open a new facility in Raleigh. According to a news release from the company, the new location is on Cayden Trail, and offers 63,000 square feet of storage, divided between 280 conventional storage units, and almost 60 units designed for wine storage. The Carroll Cos., which is owned by Roy Carroll, who also owns Bee Safe, will build the new, three-storey structure.
Carroll said he was “thrilled” to open a new facility in Raleigh, noting that the storage units are climate controlled, the wine cellar is secure, and a moving van is available to help transfer any goods. The Raleigh location is part of an expansion plan Carroll announced earlier in 2016. In March, Carroll said he planned to develop 18 additional storage facilities in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast. Currently, he aims to build five facilities in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, and perhaps 20 more in the region. He hopes to have them all up and running within 18 months.
Carroll's vision is carried out by three full-time acquisition specialists who scour the Southeast for potential new Bee Safe locations. Carroll has also said his company has the capital to make the vision a reality.
