Rap tour stops in Raleigh

A popular rapper is coming to Raleigh soon.

Fetty Wap is bringing his King Zoo Tour to The Ritz to keep the energy level up in Raleigh. Wap, who was born Willie Junior Maxwell II, gained a reputation quickly when, in 2015, his debut single, “Trap Queen,” went to number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. This success enabled him to sign with 300 Entertainment, and then finally Atlantic Records.

Subsequently, he released two singles, “My Way” and “679” that both hit the Top 10 in the U.S. His debut album, “Fetty Wap,” which he also released in 2015, went all the way to the top spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

Fetty Wap combines rapping and singing, and sometimes calls his music “ignorant R&B.” He often wears the Haitian flag to honor the island nation, which has greatly influenced him, and also to pay tribute to his daughter's grandmother. He has been quoted as saying that he loves Haitian culture, as well as paying his respects to Gucci Mane, an Atlanta rapper who has also influenced him.

A review of Fetty Wap live says:

“Bring him here more often he’s the best performer ever he’s a god.”

Fetty Wap will be at The Ritz in Raleigh on August 4, at 8.00 pm. Flyer printing is often used to create handouts to advertise events like this.
