What's Happening in Raleigh, NC…

Raleigh to put the terror into terrariums

Terrariums recreate ecosystems on a miniature scale, and a Raleigh workshop will soon be teaching how to create one of these dish gardens with a special spooky twist.

Urban Pothos Plant Shop recently announced that it will be sharing secrets of how to craft a healthy and sustainable terrarium complete with a Halloween theme. It is suitable for all ages, and both beginning and experienced green thumbs are welcome.

Attendees will be working with a variety of plants that tend to perform well together, and the instruction and materials will be supplied. An assortment of figurines and other creepy decorations may be added to make each terrarium unique and suitable for the spooky season. There will be eerie music playing to help inspire the participants.

Tickets start at $47.75, including taxes and fees. All finished projects can be taken home at the end of the session. Parents must accompany their child throughout the event.

A crafting or planting workshop gives its attendees a fun way to learn some new skills. Plant care tip sheets and other handouts can be prepared by print shops from the area.

This hands-on session that will prepare some terrifying terrariums will be on offer on Saturday, October 5. The class will run from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at 1101 East Whitaker Mill Road.
