Blues lovers should plan to be in Raleigh soon, as a festival designed just for them is on the way.
The 11th Annual Raleigh Blues Festival 2020 has been scheduled for the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. The lineup of blues artists is Pokey Bear, Big G, Lacee, Nellie “tiger” Travis, and Tucka.
Pokey Bear is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a member of the Louisiana Blues Brothas trio. He claims James Brown as a major influence on him and his music. Big G is the stage name of George Staten, who was born in Virginia's Charlotte County and is based in Richmond. He calls his style “Southern Soul.” Lacee was born Lacy Yvonne Reed, and is a blues, soul and R&B singer. She won the International Female Vocalist of the Year Award in 2006.
Nellie “Tiger” Travis comes from Mound Bayou, Mississippi, and mixes Southern soul with contemporary blues to create her sound. Finally, Tucka, who comes from Louisiana, sang lead for Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band before launching a solo career, singing hits from the 1970s, 1980s, and today. He cites Barry White and R. Kelly as influences on his style.
This fantastic blues event is scheduled for February 21, with the doors opening at 8:00 pm. Brochure printing can be used to provide informative programs for events like this.
