Raleigh clinics to help keep rabies at bay

World Rabies Day is scheduled for late September, and Raleigh pet owners who want to play their part to protect their furry friend, as well as wildlife and people, are encouraged to take advantage of a local initiative

The Animal Control Unit of the Raleigh Police Department has arranged two rabies vaccination and microchipping events for September. These offer low-cost options, and distemper vaccinations will also be available.

The organizers of these pop-up clinics have put together a menu of services. Rabies vaccinations are $5, while microchipping will be free thanks to the Cary Police Department’s Animal Control Unit. Distemper vaccines will also be free, courtesy of PetCo love. They will both run for four hours, and dogs, cats, and ferrets can all be accommodated. The microchips are smaller than a grain of rice, and can be important tools should a pet become lost.

Taking care of a pet’s health is one of the responsibilities of having a companion animal. A poster printing company can help to keep the public informed about pop-up clinics and other activities that may benefit their furry friend

Raleigh’s Pet Care Clinics these are set for September 15 and September 29, both of which are Sundays. More details about the location and timings can be found on the City of Raleigh’s website.
