The 2022 edition of the Dreamville Festival held in Raleigh in April generated over $6m worth of economic impact, it has been confirmed.
The organizers put out a press release at the end of May which showed that the two-day festival, presented by J. Cole, attracted crowds of over 80,000 people.
The figure for economic impact is a loose estimate of how much the tourism industry made thanks to the event. According to the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, Wake County’s economy indirectly benefited from the festival to the tune of $6.7m. Flyer printing is often used to promote festivals and share news of figures like these.
Festival president and Dreamville partner Adam Roy expressed his excitement at many people showed up for the festival, and was amazed at the impact that the event had on the local economy. The festival is only in its second year, but Roy stated that he and his team expect to keep doing this kind of work for many years to come.
The Festival was held at Dorothea Dix Park, with a line-up featured big names such as Kehlani, Lil Baby, T-Pain, Rico Nasty, and J. Cole himself, among others. In keeping with the event’s community focus, a portion of the profits from the festival will be donated to the Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy.
