Apple submits plans for RTP office

Tech giant Apple is making progress in its plans to build a Research Triangle Park (RTP) campus in Raleigh, which has the potential to accommodate over 3,000 employees.

According to the submitted application, Apple has outlined its intentions to construct offices with 324,000 square feet of space in the RTP. The plans specify professional buildings reaching heights of approximately 73 feet, equivalent to around six or eight stories. The tech giant recently submitted the plans for site work, marking the first steps towards initiating the construction process by commencing excavation and groundwork.

To put it into perspective, the proposed 324,000-square-foot office space planned by Apple in the Research Triangle Park is approximately twice as large as a typical Walmart Supercenter. This provides a sense of the scale and magnitude of the planned construction project. Poster printing can be used to inform the public about any ongoing works on a site.

The state has already awarded Apple a substantial incentive package totaling $1.2bn. In 2021, Apple unveiled its ambitious plans for an engineering hub and campus, surpassing $1bn in investment. This strategic move aimed to generate a significant number of well-paid employment opportunities in the Triangle region over a span of five years.

Situated at the southern end of the Research Triangle Park, the site spans around 281 acres and is positioned adjacent to Louis Stephens Drive. Documents submitted to the county show that Apple began the permit application process in 2022.
