Huntersville residents hoping to learn about these ancient Japanese art and craft practices will soon be attending a hands-on interactive seminar.
One of the many types of Japanese arts is known as kokedama. It involves using various plants to create living sculptures. A workshop taking place in early July will provide attendees with an introduction to this practice.
The process involves shaping a ball of soil, wrapping this ball in moss, and then securing it with organic twine. This creation will then begin to grow, and it can be manicured according to the desires of the individual.
This seminar will provide guests with a host of resources. They can choose from a variety of different plants, moss, and twine. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will also be supplied at no additional cost.
