Every dog has its day, and that day is set to arrive in Huntersville when a canine celebration and series of challenges comes to town.
The 2025 Sheepdog Trials and Dog Festival, presented by Huntersville’s Historic Rural Hill, is preparing to get underway next month, bringing a day filled with shopping, demonstrations, food, and fun for the whole family. The celebration will be held across two days, with the featured event being the Sheepdog Trials.
Top sheepdogs from the region will converge to compete in events and determine the best in show. The trained dogs will display their herding skills and navigate different obstacle courses using teamwork and their communication with their handler. Other demonstrations will involve obedience challenges and agility competitions. Flyer printing is an effective way to raise awareness of such events in the community, increasing attendance and visibility.
Vendors will be at the festival with food and snacks for humans and their canine companions. Shoppers can also find unique dog-themed gifts and crafts to take home. Visitors are welcome to bring well-trained and leashed pups from home to enjoy the environment. The event will be held rain or shine.
Historic Rural Hill in Huntersville will host the Dog Festival and Sheepdog Competition on the weekend of November 15 and 16. The gates open at 10:00 AM. Day passes are $20, and weekend passes cost $31.
