Beach club planned for Huntersville

Jake Palillo, the head of Bi-Part Development, has disclosed intentions to construct the Lagoona Bay Beach Club on an extensive property located in Huntersville, which is 250 miles away from the Atlantic Ocean.

Based on town documents, the developer has submitted a request to rezone a 263-acre property located off Sam Furr Road to accommodate a beach resort comprising various residential and commercial applications.

Palillo had revealed his plans for the project last year, with a 10-acre lagoon at its center. The lagoon will be encompassed by beaches and developed using Crystal Lagoons' technology, which claims to be able to construct a tropical-style lagoon "anywhere in the world.” Brochure printing is often used to share details about what real estate projects will look like when they are completed.

In a press release, Palillo said:

"Lagoona Bay Beach Club will be paradise for families, couples and young professionals looking to live a year-round vacation lifestyle and enjoy what life has to offer. The days of golf-centric country clubs are over.”

The Lagoona Bay Beach Club project is being developed by Palillo along with his son and son-in-law. Housing Studio and Urban Design Partners have joined the project team for the development.

The town documents reveal that the rezoning request is tentatively set for the first public hearing on June 5. Bi-Part Development has announced that the construction of the Lagoona Bay Beach Club is expected to commence in early 2024, assuming that the rezoning is approved.
