An early December event is bringing a popular holiday story to a High Point audience.
Reel Winter Night is an event from the city’s department for parks & recreations. The experience takes the common activity of watching a movie and brings it outdoors. Locals can socialize with each other and take in their city’s natural environment, while also enjoying a film and some special treats. The event is great for families to attend as well.
The movie being shown will be How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Specifically, the live action version featuring Jim Carrey as the titular character. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the film. Other cast members include Taylor Momsen, Molly Shannon, Christine Baranski, Jeffery Tambor, and Bill Irwin. The movie is a take on the Dr. Seuss story of the same name. The book, published in the year 1957, quickly became a family favorite for the holidays, with each film adaptation following suit.
Everyone is welcome to have some s’mores and hot chocolate as they watch the movie. Guests are asked to provide their own lawn chairs or blankets. The venue for the festive experience is Oak Hollow Marina, which sits near the shoreline of Oak Hollow Lake. Attendance for the event is free. Many city organized experiences will use flyer printing as an easy promotion technique. The High Point activity will take place between 5:00pm and 7:00pm on December 5th. Information is available via AllEvents.
