The ‘Analog’ exhibit is taking place in Greensboro beginning next month, and will run until November.
The exhibition will be showcasing the works of North Carolina photographers. It will feature traditional, analog and alternative processes in photography. Some of the works on display will be kallitypes (an iron-silver process), pictures taken with pinhole cameras, and cyanotypes (produces a cyan-blue Print). The participants of the exhibit include Signe Ballew, Joshua White, Haoyang Zhao, and Courtney Johnson. All of the works will be available to be purchased.
The opening reception will take place on August 3 at the Green Hill Center for NC Art from 5:30 to 9:00 PM. It is free and open to the public, and it is likely some of the artists will be on hand to talk to guests about their works.
A talk related to the exhibit will be held on August 30 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Frank Konhaus will be discussing Collecting Photography. He will talk about the motivations of collectors, the mechanics of collecting and keeping proper documentation. This is also free.
No doubt many graphic design professionals in the Greensboro area will be interested in this show, which will be on display at the Green Hill Center for NC Art from August 3 to November 4. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 noon to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM. Call 336-333-7460 for more information.
