Billings welcomes food safety certification

Finley Food & Beverage Consulting will be leading a food certification program in Billings.

Food service workers will graduate from the program with advanced certification and knowledge in food safety. The certification satisfies Montana's requirement that retail food outlets have at least one qualified manager on staff and is valid for five years.

Hazardous food preparation techniques like vacuum packing, sous vide, cook-chill techniques, and the creation of acidified rice are also covered in the program. To adhere to food safety laws and reduce risks, businesses using these techniques need to have a certified Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan. To assist companies in identifying their requirements and creating a HACCP-compliant plan, organizers provide a free consultation. Certificates tend to feature the Letterheads of the issuing organization.

Experienced food and beverage professionals Laura Finley and her husband, Zac Finley, will be teaching the seminar. In Idaho and Montana, the Finleys have helped over 2,500 people earn their Certified Food Protection Manager certificates. Their training is both useful and interesting since it blends collaborative learning with real-world experiences.

The workshop will effectively blend the soft skills of food safety with technical know-how. The goal of the workshop is to prepare participants to handle the intricacies of the industry while fostering a sense of connection among local food safety specialists.

The ServSafe Manager Training session will be held in Billings, Montana, on Tuesday, January 21st., 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM MST.
