The Billings-Yellowstone County Metropolitan Planning Organization is actively revising a master plan for bicycle and pedestrian access that was originally published in 2017.
The master plan for 2024 seeks to determine individual needs and look at possible ways to improve safety for individuals walking, rolling, and biking in the Billings region. The plan will examine current trends, consult with the public, evaluate existing infrastructure, and offer suggestions for implementing the project over the coming years.
The project's team held a public reception for the plan on November 29 at the Billings Public Library. Printing services can be used to Print out surveys in cases like this.
The general public was asked to attend the open house to learn about the master plan and give suggestions on possible improvements. The public meeting also included a fun cookie decorating session in which participants designed their own bicycling, rolling, or walking-shaped cookies.
Residents in the Billings region were urged to provide input using an online survey that also had an interactive web map. Participants were able to draw possible links and indicate particular areas of worry and opportunity using the map, and view comments made by other members of the community.
Those who could not attend in person can provide virtual feedback for the updated master plan at billingsbikepedplan.com until January 5. A map of the master plan is also available on the site.
