A concert in Lansing will bring cheer to the city for the new year.
The Lansing Children's Choir has scheduled its annual winter concert, and everyone is invited.
The choir was formed in 2015, to give young people in Lansing who are interested in music a safe place to explore their interest. The choir is open to any child or young person between eight and 18 who would like to sing. It's not necessary to audition for the choir, though the newcomer will be placed depending on their vocal and musical readiness, ability to focus consistently, emotional maturity, leadership and attitude, as well as their age, and the quality of their voice.
Megan Higle is the choir's director. Higle has a Bachelor's degree in vocal performance, and a Master's in choral conducting. She is presently the Director of Music at the First Presbyterian Church of Lansing, as well as working with children as a piano teacher and voice coach. Benjamin English serves as the choir's executive director, with Marina Stojanovska providing the piano accompaniment.
Facebook reviews of the choir give the group five out of five, and recommend it highly.
The concert will take place at the choir's Sanctuary, at 510 West Ottawa Street, beginning at 4.00 pm on January 18. There is no charge for admission. Banner printing can provide festive, seasonal decorations for events such as this.
