Lansing cooking class to explore Indian cuisine

Next month, Chef Meghesh Pansari will lead the Dine & Discovery Cooking Workshop: Chicken Tikka for anyone in the Lansing area interesting in learning how to cook this Indian dish.

Chef Meghesh Pansari is founder and owner of Kahani Hospitality, LLC, which specializes in catering and organization special events revolving around gourmet food. Described as a self-started chef, Pansari has many years of experience working in various restaurant kitchens in New York, and also as an executive chef and restaurant owner.

The Allen Neighborhood Center will host the cooking workshop in its Maker Kitchen, which offers commercial shared-use kitchens to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Chef Pansari will utilize the Maker Kitchen to teach attendees the basics of how to cook chicken tikka, which is roasted marinade chicken in a spiced sauce. To participate, attendees will need to have closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing. Hair must be tied back if it is shoulder length or longer.

Cooking workshops are often accompanied by Posters, which can provide a visual learning aid for people attending the class. Organizers can visit local Print shops offering poster printing services to prepare these materials.

The cooking class is scheduled for Saturday, August 9 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The Allen Neighborhood Center is located at 1611 East Kalamazoo Street. Tickets are $50 per person.
