An art gallery in Lansing is looking for artists to join in their celebration of the holidays.
The Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center is hosting Michigan Made | Holiday Exhibition, an event featuring artworks ranging from gifts to fine art, including woodworking, paper products, leather goods, pottery, paintings, jewelry, and more. Poster printing is often used to advertise events such as this when they occur.
Katrina M. Daniels and Britta Urness are co-curating the exhibition. Daniels is the gallery's sales director, and Urness is an artist. She is a resident of Lansing, and an advising specialist and faculty member at Michigan State University, where she has served since 2008.
Britta was graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts with a specialization in Studio Art, and went on to earn a Master's of Fine Art in Painting from the University of Iowa. While studying at Iowa, she also minored in printmaking.
The Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center was founded in 1965 to promote the work of Michigan artists to the people of Lansing, so they could be enjoyed by everyone. The facility is non-profit, and offers many opportunities for visitors to become familiar with visual arts via educational programs, exhibitions, and a gallery where Michigan artists' works are displayed. The gallery is free.
The deadline to submit a work for consideration is 11.59 pm on September 1.
