Eccentric caf to become full-service eatery

Bell’s Brewery Inc. in Kalamazoo is planning to open a new kitchen and dining space this month, with full table service and a new menu.

The restaurant will expand to 6,600 square feet to the east of the original café that was used for warehouse and storage space. About 130 seats will be added and the bar will be expanded into the space where the kitchen, which is 150 square feet in size, currently is. There will also be an employee area for the 120 people who work at the restaurant and more options for parking.

On the new menu will be freshly ground burgers, fish and chips, steamed eggs, mussels, smoked meats, and salads, all of which will be prepared in many ways.

According to Director of Retail at Bell’s, Jason Reicherts, the goal of the café is to serve high quality food, served by an outstanding wait staff, and enhance the high quality beer that is already being served. The staff will be trained on an ongoing basis on the latest news in food, craft beer, and beer pairings, among other topics.

The new restaurant has a planned opening date of July 13. Most likely, flyer printing companies are being used by the restaurant to create Flyers to announce the opening date and the restaurant’s many new features.
