Grand Blanc to participate in community event

The Michigan Parkinson Foundation will host a community walk in Grand Blanc this October.

The walk will give participants an opportunity to support people affected by Parkinson’s disease while connecting with families, caregivers, and advocates. Activities will include sponsor exhibits, refreshments, an exercise demonstration, children’s programming, and recognition of individuals living with the condition.

Check-in begins before the formal program, allowing participants to collect shirts and wristbands or register on site. Remarks will precede the walk.

The main course will span about one mile on a paved path. The activity will be untimed, allowing attendees to proceed comfortably. Participants will also have the option to remain near the gathering area without walking.

Strollers, wagons, mobility aids, and dogs on short leashes are permitted. Water will be available near the route. Sponsor tables, a photo area, and children’s activities will offer additional ways to participate.

Organizers of community fundraisers such as this one often use banner printing to guide walkers and display event information.

Adult registration costs $20, increasing to $25 on event day. Attendees aged 17 and younger may participate free and will receive a shirt and wristband. Online enrollment ends at noon October 1.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 from 8:45 AM to noon at the Henry Ford Genesys Health Club, 801 Health Park Boulevard, Grand Blanc.
