Community race provides support in Grand Blanc

The London Strong Foundation is preparing to host the ninth edition of its “Set Your Dreams” 5K event, bringing runners, walkers, and families together.

Organizers say proceeds from the gathering will help fund additional automated external defibrillators (AED) throughout the region as part of ongoing public safety efforts.

There will be several participation categories. A children’s fun run, known as the Kitten Caboodle, is scheduled ahead of the evening race activities and is recommended for participants younger than eight years old.

Standard entry for the 5K running division and walking division begins at $30 before July 6, then rises to $35 from July 7 through July 16, and increases again to $40 during the final registration period ending July 23. Participants selecting the upgraded technical shirt package will pay $35 during early registration, $40 during the middle registration period, and $45 closer to race day. Children’s Kitten Caboodle registration remains $15 and includes a cotton shirt. Virtual participants will pay the same tiered rates, with an added $5 Mailing fee for race packets.

Packet distribution is scheduled for July 22 and again on race day beginning at 4:30 pm. Event organizers often rely on poster printing to increase visibility for events such as this one.

The 9th Annual London Strong “Set Your Dreams” 5K Run/Walk will take place Thursday, July 23 starting at 4:30 PM at Creasey Bicentennial Park, 1505 E. Grand Blanc Road.
