Grand Blanc runs for Thanksgiving

The Flint Elks Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk will welcome runners and walkers to Grand Blanc next month.

This is a family-friendly occasion celebrating fitness and the Thanksgiving season. Held at the Flint Elks Golf Course, the race offers participants of varying abilities and ages an opportunity to enjoy an outdoor activity while supporting local youth and veterans.

The 5K course goes through the golf course's maintained grassy areas, gentle hills, and paved cart paths. Participants can compete for personal records or enjoy the course at a comfortable walking pace. The event includes chip timing, overall awards and ones based on age groups, and complimentary race photographs.

Registered participants will receive a custom event T-shirt and a commemorative finisher medal. Refreshments and live music will provide additional entertainment following the run. The event also supports Flint Elks Club youth programming and veteran assistance efforts through charitable donations.

Registration costs $50 for the in-person 5K and $65 for the virtual option. Race-day packet pickup will be available from 8:00 AM to 9:50 AM. Registration for the event can be completed through the RunSignUp listing.

Community event organizers often use banner printing to promote local fundraising races and recognize participating sponsors.

The trot takes place on Saturday, November 21 at Flint Elks Golf Course, 7177 East Maple Avenue, Grand Blanc. The 5K begins at 10:00 AM.
