The Township of Commerce will be bringing back its Concert in the Park event series this July, with four weeks of music and food from local creators.
The shows will kick off with a performance by Geff Phillips and his Friends, a group known for playing everything from yacht rock to Motown. The following weeks will feature Zang and the Dtour Band. The month will close out with Power Play Detroit taking the stage, a cover group playing classic rock hits that has played in previous versions of the concert series.
Each week will also feature a different food truck drawing on the Commerce area’s diverse culinary scene. Participating vendors include All City Dogs, D & W Street Eats, and the Bavarian Inn Cluck Truck. Visitors can also bring their own water or other refreshments.
Concert nights will also include family-friendly activities such as face paint. Audience members are invited to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for comfortable outdoor seating. Concert series like these are a popular summer attraction and often use grassroots methods like poster printing and social media to help better connect with the local community.
The 2026 Concert in the Park shows will take place every Friday evening beginning with July 10 and ending on the 31rst at the Richardson Community Center in Commerce Township. Admission for all shows will be free.
