The event welcomes all types of cars, from foreign “supercars” and classics to modern vehicles. The goal is to create community, with a chance to socialize and talk cars with other enthusiasts. Advertising for the event states:
“…even if you don't have a "cool" car yet, you’re invited to come hang out and partake in all our activities. Every event features entertainment for everyone to enjoy, whether you brought a show-stopper or you're just there for the vibe.”
There will be awards for the best-looking cars in a variety of categories. Other attractions include a footrace with a $500 cash prize, car-related vendors, and a car painting station where visitors can spray-paint “our friend Nate’s” Ford Focus. The show is designed to open the warm weather season, with further Modded Detroit events planned.
In addition to the cars on display, Modded Detroit will be giving away prizes through a raffle. The top prize will be a Miata Go-Kart, with other rewards including window tinting and a full vehicle wrap. Vehicle wraps are also commonly offered by printing services for advertising and decorating vehicles.
The 2026 Modded Detroit season opener will take place at the Multi Lakes Conservation Association in Commerce Township on Saturday, April 11, starting at 1:00 pm.
