The Ecology School at the River Bend campus in Saco will be completing its fundraising and construction efforts this month.
Such fundraising task often require undertaking promotional efforts in the region. A poster printing company can work with many custom design request and still stay within budget.
The school is building a dormitory set to span 9,000 square feet, a dining area of 7,000 square feet, and 718 solar panels. The school still needs to raise another $600,000 towards its goal of $14.1 million, but has reached close to 96% of that goal. Recent donations have been from Hancock Lumber, Bangor Savings Bank, Central Maine Power Co., and Efficiency Maine.
The completion of this project will mean that the school will one of the most environmentally sustainable residential centers for learning in the country. It may also be the first place in Maine that will achieve the full Living Building Certification of the Living Future Institute – the world’s most comprehensive green building certification.
Co-founder, CEO, and president of the school, Drew Dumsch, commented that the Ecology School is not only stunning but an example of how the most cutting-edge technology can be combined with buildings from the 18th Century to create a working rural landscape of elegant green construction and design.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held next Thursday, April 22.
