Jodi MacPhail, has been elected as the first female mayor of Saco. She replaces William Doyle, who is the current mayor and did not run for re-election.
Such elections often call for business card printing services.
MacPhail has lived in Saco her entire life and graduated from Thornton Academy. Since 2019, she has served as the City Councilor from Ward 6. She expressed her pride in being the first female mayor of the city. She added that running unopposed and leading one of the largest communities in Maine shows how much faith the residents have in her and her experience.
A former Saco City Councilor, State Representative Lynn Copeland, said that she was glad to see that the city elected a female mayor which might inspire young girls to get interested in leadership positions.
MacPhail said that she plans to collaborate with communities surrounding Saco so that residents can be connected with the resources they need. She also wants to create a newsletter that will be available on a regular basis so that residents can keep up to date with the activities of the city government. She also wants to raise awareness about commissions, committees, and city boards, and inform residents about such entities so that residents might want to serve on these entities.
MacPhail will begin her role on Monday, December 4 when she will be inaugurated.
