Largest amusement park in Maine to open for summer
Funtown Splashtown U.S.A. in Saco will be reopening in time for the summer season.
Funtown Splashtown U.S.A. is the largest amusement and water park in New England. Among its main attractions are the Dragon’s Descent Turbo Drop and its wooden roller coaster. Other features at the park include the Mount Olympus water slides, the Tornado and Mammoth water slides, the Thunder Falls Log Flume, and the largest and tallest water attractions of their kind in the state. Rides that are less daring are the Grand Prix Racers, Wild Mouse Coaster, the Thunderbolt, and the Bumper Cars. In total, the park has close to 50 slides, pool, and rides.
The theme park is also looking to hire seasonal workers. Many printing services can be hired to create flyers and other materials to distribute throughout the area informing residents and others of such opportunities.
The cost for a one-day combination ticket to both parks ranges from $34.00 for seniors to $43.00 for those who are four feet in height and taller. Tickets can also be purchased individually for each park with prices ranging from $30.00 to $38.00 for Funtown USA Ride Park and from $30.00 to $35.00 for Splashtown U.S.A. Water Park. Seasonal passes are also available as well as discounts for those who arrive late in the afternoon.
Funtown Splashtown is planning to open Memorial Day weekend.
