College in Saco to hold special lectures

York County Senior College (YCSC) in Saco will have a variety of offerings for its winter 2021 session.

Brochure printing is often used to provide more details about such offerings and registration information.

Several times a month, there will be special lectures held for an hour and a half. The first one will be on Wednesday, January 13 on remembering the 1940s. Lorraine Masure who has been with the college for many years will be talking about the era in which she grew up to delight the seniors in the population. A week later Edward Gleason, an astronomer from the University of Maine Southworth Planetarium will be talking about the skies and how we know what we know.

On Wednesday, February 10, Stephen Pelsue, PhD, the scientific director of BBI Solutions will be discussing the future of the vaccine for COVID-19 and the return to normalcy. The following week on Wednesday, February 17, Executive Director of the Dyer Library/Saco Museum, Leslie Lamber Rounds, will discuss her most recent book about a murder that took place over 100 years ago in New Hampshire. The last lecture of the month will take place on Wednesday, February 24 about the ice age in Maine over 20,000 years ago.

All lectures are free and will be online and held online from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.
