Taste of Bethesda on the way
The upcoming Taste of Bethesda festival promises to be a day of fun, music, and food. The event will bring five entertainment stages and approximately 50 restaurants to Woodmont Triangle in Bethesda.
The music and food festival is produced by the Bethesda Urban Partnership (BUP), which was created in 1999 to market and manage Bethesda's downtown. Taste of Bethesda is one of their major events, and has been a favorite of residents for 28 years. Bethesda is known for its diverse restaurant scene, and this gives people a chance to sample food from places they hae never been, as well as their favorites.
The participating restaurants do not serve a full menu, but instead offer dishes of their choice. Among the goodies are palak paneer, butter chicken, rice pullao, and samosas from Bethesda Curry Kitchen; as well as chips and salsa, quesadillas, and tacos from Guapo's. Both national chains and independent restaurants are taking part.
Along with the food, there is also music and cultural entertainment on five different stages. From Irish dance to folk dance, there is likely to be something for everyone.
Taste of Bethesda runs from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm this Saturday, October 7. Admission is free, though there is a small charge for food.
Events like this can benefit if organizers work with a flyer printing company to create a handout listing the vendors and where to find them, as well as a schedule of entertainment.
