Superstar violinist to appear in Bethesda
A classical musician who has been showered with awards and honors is coming to Bethesda.
Itzhak Perlman is bringing “In the Fiddler’s House,” his celebration of Klezmer music, to the Music Center at The Strathmore in Bethesda. The performance is a live version of his PBS special, which won an Emmy when it was broadcast in 1995. In a review of that program, Don Heckman noted that Perlman’s technique and violin tone are flawless, as expected of someone of Perlman’s caliber. He goes on:
It is his joy in music that sets Perlman in a class by himself and has made him a rare superstar in the classical world. He is known for his humanity and charm as much as for his talent, and audiences all over the world respond to both.
Perlman has received a Presidential Medal of Freedom, a Kennedy Center Honor, a National Medal of Arts, and a Medal of Liberty. He has also won 16 Grammys, 4 Emmys, a Genesis Prize, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Appearing with Perlman are Hankus Netsky, Andy Statman, and artists of the Brave Old World Klezmer Conservatory Band.
The concert is set for September 28 at 8.00 pm. Posters are the ideal medium for advertising events like this, and organizers can create them using poster printing.

“More unexpected, and more fascinating, is the opportunity to see and hear a gifted musician experiencing the pleasure of getting in contact with his roots.”
