Colonial Players in Annapolis continues its 69th season

Annapolis’ Colonial Theater’s 69th season seems some notable plays on show over the next few months.

The first is ‘33 Variations’, which runs from October 20 to November 12. Produced by Shirley Panek and Judi Wobensmith, the show is about two composers from different times that come to terms with their limitations and passion for music. Despite time differences, they share a common bond.

‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ runs from December 1 to 10, and is presented as a live radio show. Produced by Tim Brown, this traditional holiday classic brings the viewer into the life of George Bailey, who is standing on a bridge considering jumping off on Christmas Eve due to severe money problems. His friends and family help him realize his worth.

‘Quartet’ plays from Jan. 12 to Feb 4, produced by Kaelynn Miller. This one is about three opera singer in a retirement home located in Kent, England. During a birthday celebration for Verdi, Jean who used to be married to Reggie (one of the other opera singers), refuses to sing. The comedy is about how the show must go on.

Show times are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:00 pm, with Sunday matinees held at 2:00 pm. Parking is available free of charge in the evening at the State Garage on Calvert Street.
