Annapolis chicken keepers add to flocks

Annapolis backyard chicken keepers who would like to start or add to their flock are welcome to place their orders now for the upcoming Spring Chick Season.

Homestead Gardens has opened its chick ordering system for spring of 2026, and they will arrive starting in mid-March, depending on availability. A wide assortment of breeds will be available, and the price will depend on the chosen breed.

The chicks will be available for six weeks, and each week will be a separate order. A minimum of three birds must be purchased, and each order can only cover one week. Those interested may place as many weeks as they wish, and ducklings will be available during week four. The purchasers will be informed about when they may pick up their new flock members, and they will be made available at Homestead Gardens’ Davidsonville location.

To help those new to keeping chickens as well as experienced keepers expanding their flock, anyone who needs a coop will find a selection in store, and they may also be specially prepared. Stationery printers can custom design order Forms and other materials for a business.

The first baby birds set to arrive during spring chick season are scheduled for pick up on March 16th. More information about the ordering process and a link to make a purchase can be found on the venue’s website.
