Annapolis to celebrate springs floral bounty

April showers bring May flowers, and an Annapolis initiative will be encouraging local businesses and residents to add some floral elements to their spring decor plans.

The Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne has joined in the community's larger May Day celebrations by issuing a challenge asking people to decorate the front of their home or business with a colorful basket of spring blossoms. If desired, merchants can choose an alternative container related to their company.

The activity will be taking place in parts of Murray Hill, as well as the city’s Historic District. It will be judged by members of the Garden Club, and they will walk around the area, making their decisions as they go. The creators of the residential and merchant entries that receive top marks will receive a blue ribbon and be invited to be part of an upcoming tea.

Groups that host public events may require a range of printing services to ensure a function will be a success. These will be on offer at a professional printer.

The Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne will be hosting the community's floral design talents on Monday, May 1. The judges will be viewing the displays from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Anyone who is interested in finding out more about how they can get involved may do so on the Visit Annapolis website.
