Annapolis Maritime Museum to be replaced by high-tech gallery exhibits

The Annapolis Maritime Museum was closed down on December 30 in exchange for building three new art exhibits in its place.

This old museum was last repaired five years ago, after being damaged by Hurricane Isabel. Future exhibits set up at the Annapolis Museum will feature high-touch art galleries, giving patrons a high-tech impression of Bay health, Annapolis waters, and the oyster economy.

At the moment, the museum consists of 2,500 square feet of space, which will soon be turned into a dynamic, interactive display filled with authentic art pieces depicting the surrounding city culture. According to AMM museum curator, Caitlin Swaim, they have plans to upgrade the lifeless paintings and frames typically hosted at the art gallery into a balanced exhibit with emphasis on improving visitor engagement.

These new exhibits will reflect AMM’s status as a leading-edge innovator of the fine art industry as they continue to grow along with the Annapolis community. A few upcoming events like the Oyster Roast & Sock Burning and the Winter Lecture Series, will not be postponed during the construction phase. The same is true for the AMM’s Ellen O. Moyer Nature Park, which will stay open to visitors.

The AMM predicts that the Annapolis Museum renovations will be completed by Spring 2020. Promotional Products can be given away to patrons who attend the opening of places like museums.
