Annapolis kids going batty this October

While many may not realize it, bats are an important part of many Annapolis area ecosystems, and a local event will introduce these nighttime hunters to local kids.

Fort Smallwood Park will be celebrating the role local bat species play in the environment, and it will be aimed at younger kids. Ranger Felipa will lead the activity, and it will run for one hour.

The session will see Ranger Felipa introduce kids to bats and why they are important. They will learn how they may eat fruit or insects, and everyone can gather for a campfire storytelling session and some crafting. The participants are welcome to wear their Halloween costume, and s’mores and hot chocolate will be served for as long as their supplies last. The function is an initiative of Anne Arundel County, and the registrants will meet up at the Youth group Campground.

Learning about nature may help kids to develop a lifelong appreciation for the world around them. Activity sheets, wildlife observation Journals, and other Promotional Products that can further encourage this may be crafted for an event by a local printer.

Annapolis kids who would like to learn more about bats are encouraged to be part of this special activity. It will be held on October 30th, and the fun will kick off for the evening at 5:00pm.
