While kids may love dressing up for Halloween, parents may not appreciate the associated price tag, which is why an upcoming Annapolis activity will help to take some of the financial bite out of the equation.
The Anne Arundel County Public Library offers programming all year long, and it will be hosting a Halloween costume swap. It will be the first year the event has taken place, and its organizers are hoping it will be successful.
Parents who would like to get involved can stop by and browse through the gently used costumes and accessories on display, and they can choose one free of charge. The planners explained in the event listing that the activity will aid in making the holiday both thrifty and environmentally friendly, as it will help to keep unwanted or outgrown costumes out of area landfills.
The clothing and other gear in the swap will be donated by the local community, and anyone who would like to drop off a contribution can do so now. As of yesterday, these are being accepted at Discoveries Library, which can be found at 2250 Annapolis Mall Road. A flyer printing company will be able to market an activity to the community, which may be especially helpful if a function is new to a community.
The Halloween Costume Swap will be on offer for Annapolis families on October 8. The function will be held at Discoveries Library.
