About 200 investors celebrated the opening of a new production wing in Maryland Hall for Creative Arts in Annapolis.
During an October 23 reception and ribbing-cutting event, they celebrated the dedication of the Goldstein-Cunitz Center for Film and New Media.
The celebration marked $18m campaign to expand the creative arts center that began in 2013. A major part of this came together in 2015, when a professional theater was formed at the center that had previously been an auditorium.
The new wing provides space and new features for backstage productions services for the theater. It will have a new loading dock and freight elevator for bringing in scenery and props for productions.
Extra storage space provides more room on stage for performers, while a new freight elevator makes it easier to move heavy furniture and props onto the stage. Annapolis has Print shops that design Promotional Products for arts centers like this.
The gym was remodeled to develop the new film and media center. It has a brand-new dressing rooms for the actors and actresses, and a new central heating and cooling system that was converted from oil to gas. Ramps and electronic doors are fitted in all art center buildings.
Maryland Hall CEO and president Margaret Davis says the expansion helps them reach more of the community due to private and public donations. Classes, theater productions, dance, and musical performance are among the events that take place at the Maryland Hall for Creative Arts.
