Malden bakery looks to renovate and expand
The Paintedosi Baking Company has announced that it is currently undergoing building renovations at its location in Malden.
The company’s executive vice president, Joe Piantedosi, said that some of the improvements can be seen while others cannot. These renovations are being done to improve production for the future.
Piantedosi said that the structure on Commercial Street in Malden is being updated and upgraded. There are several improvements being made of both a technological and internal nature. A sales center of 5,000 square feet is also under construction, where business clients will be able to tour the facilities to see how the bread is made and hold meetings. Brochure printing can also be used for such visits to provide more detailed information about the company and its products.
The bakery specializes in fresh bread products, which it sells throughout New England. Other products distributed throughout the country are flash frozen. The bread items include hot dog and hamburger rolls, as well as high-end artisan products, for a total of over 250 items.
The bakery was founded in 1916 when Salvatore Piantedosi, Joe’s grandfather, emigrated from Italy to Everett. Salvatore would travel to the city for fresh bread until Joe’s grandmother convinced him to make his own. The bakery has been run by the family ever since.
The work is expected to be completed in about three years.
